South Carolina: Hush Puppy Heaven

I personally love SC! There are so many fun things to do there, so many places to go and things to see. Not to mention the amazing beaches! I often reminisce about the food I ate there at all the delicious restaurants. I want to go back for more! As people say, some things are just better in the south, and they're absolutely right! BBQ, comfort food, seafood, and the must-have side dish when eating that kind of food - hush puppies.

Fun Fact: Did you know that hush puppies got there name because they used to be fed to dogs to "hush the puppies." The more you know!

If you've ever had a hush puppy you know what I mean when I say it's like taking a bite of heaven. The crunch on the outside and the soft, fluffy interior with the perfect amount of seasoning... my mouth is watering. Some of the best ones I've had were from the great state of South Carolina.

To help you prepare for your own trip there I've found some of the top rated restaurants in Myrtle Beach - a city you have to visit there!

Award winning chefs, mouthwatering meal options, classic southern options as well as so much more, this place looks deeeeelicious.

This is a German-Austrian restaurant with a 4.8 star rating! I'm always looking to try new kinds of food, so I'd definitely go here. They have food I've never heard of but it looks and sounds delicious regardless.

A BBQ buffet! I know the opinion on buffets are very love-them or hate-them. I personally love buffets and some good BBQ, so this place seems like perfection.

Ocean views and everything from breakfast to dinner - what else could you ask for? Their seafood is fresh and locally caught. Every single thing on their menu sounds so good.

Southern classics with their own twist. I want to try literally everything on their menu.

Two words: hushpuppy. sundae. Need I say more?

I don't know about you, but I'm starving now. Maybe I'll try to make my own hush puppies! Comment your favorite hush puppy recipe!
